New Rumors Call Nvidia Develops AI-Based GPU Drivers

JAKARTA - A rumor is starting to circulate on Twitter, which suggests Nvidia may be developing drivers for their optimized graphics card (GPU) through Artificial Intelligence (AI), and these drivers can improve hardware performance by up to 30 percent.

This information comes from CapFrameX, developer of frame time capture and analysis tools with the same name. According to him, Nvidia GPU drivers optimized by AI will perform up to 30 percent better, where gamers can expect an average increase of around 10 percent.

Of course, these values vary from one title to another, the latest game will probably be a game that can achieve greater performance improvements.

The first batch can be released in the first quarter (Q1) of this year. However, it's unclear whether this is specifically for the GeForce RTX 40 series or for previous generation graphics cards as well.

In fact, it was not surprising when Nvidia began to to toutate AI-optimized drivers in the next few months, or in the future.

This is because AI has penetrated almost every aspect of technology in several ways, and Nvidia relies heavily on AI on its various product offerings.

As is true for graphics, there is the latest DLSS 3 version of Nvidia's AI-powered upscaling technology, as well as the use of Tensor cores for game projects and data centers.

Looking at it more broadly, AI technology has played an increasingly large role in Nvidia's financial gains. Even with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who also alluded to this during the company's last earnings report last November last year.

"Increasing our new platforms, the Lovelace RTX Graphs, RTX computing BlueField and Quantum networks, Orins for autonomous and robotic vehicles, and the Omniverse are starting a good start and forming the foundations of our next growth phase," Huang said as quoted by HotHardware, Wednesday, January 11.

NVIDIA's pioneering work in accelerated computing is becoming more important than ever. Limited by physics, general-purpose computing has slowed to creep, just as AI demands more computing."

Huang added that accelerated computing allows the company to achieve a huge increase in productivity while saving money and being more environmentally friendly.

For now, this is nothing more than a rumor and there has been no confirmation from Nvidia. But if that's true, the technology could revolutionize the way hardware manufacturers develop drivers that make their products work, reduce the development time and cost of updating drivers.
