Android 13 System Now Comes In Windows 11, What's New?

JAKARTA - Microsoft has confirmed that Android 13 updates have now been rolled out for Windows Subsystems for Android or WSA to all Windows Insiders.

"Today we are sending updates to Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11 to all Windows Insider channels," the company wrote in its announcement on Tuesday, January 10.

For information, the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is a Windows 11 feature that allows several Android games and Android apps to run on your PC.

Launching from How To Geek this announcement came after Microsoft previously announced in a GitHub discussion that the update was rolling out to people on the Windows Subsystem for this Android preview program very early.

The new version (2211,40000.7.0) updated the system to Android 13, giving it a new API for app developers and some system features to use. The following updates are as follows:

The boot time has been fixed, with Microsoft reporting a 50% increase. Click input mouse, clip board, change of app size, and opening media files will also work better than ever.

Lastly, a new update adds support for shortcuts from the Android app. If the Android app has available shortcuts, the shortcut will appear in the jumplist when you right-click the icon in the taskbar.

Microsoft did not say when everyone in Windows 11 would get a Subsystem update, but that would come after bug testing in the preview program and the Windows Insider Program was completed.
