The Official Dark Sky Weather Forecast App Is Deleted On All Platforms, Starting January 1, 2023

JAKARTA - In March 2020, Apple bought Dark Sky, a weather forecast app that is quite popular because of its level of accuracy in predicting the weather.

After that, in the same year in August, Apple decided to delete the Android Dark Sky application on the play store and wearOS.

The joining of Dark Sky with Apple allowed the tech giant to integrate technology from Dark Sky into weather forecasts in Apple's Weather app.

"The forecast technology of Dark Sky is now being upgraded and integrated into Apple's all-new weather forecasts, supporting an updated Apple weather app," Grossman said.

So, if you're looking for other weather forecast alternatives, you can reuse the updated Weather app. Since the launch of iOS 14, Apple has gradually integrated Dark Sky technology into its original offerings.

For example, the weather app now includes a rainfall warning the following hour, which is a feature directly inspired by Dark Sky.
