Twitter Remove Posts On Prohibition Of Promoting Other Social Media, What's Going On?

JAKARTA - Elon Musk's social media company said it would prohibit users from promoting other social networks on Twitter, including Instagram, Facebook, Mastodon, and so on.

In a tweet that has now been deleted by Twitter via the @TwitterSupport account, they said they would no longer "allow free promotions for certain social media platforms on Twitter".

It is not known why Twitter deleted the tweet, but on a different account @TwitterSafety, the social media platform created a poll, regarding the ban.

After Elon Musk took control of Twitter, and made a policy change, he got a lot of criticism.

In responses from the poll, many netizens started to get angry because of it. Most of them say that they should be the ones who know best how to make Twitter safer for users.

"This is literally a Twitter Security account. Your job is to make sure Twitter is safe. Before I answer this question, can someone explain to me how Twitter users who say they're on another platform will make Twitter less secure?" said the account @tonyposnanski.

Another comment came from the @Lovelistening1 account which said: "Don't ask us. You have people to help you with that & you allegedly fired them. We weren't paid to run Twitter, I just wanted to read the news & talk to some people. You made my head sick. What does it matter what I think?"
