Meta Keeps Upgrading Features In Group Calls On WhatsApp

JAKARTA - In 2022, Meta has launched several new features on WhatsApp including calls for 32 people, guidance, and call links.

With the 32-person video calling feature, you can start video calling or voice on mobile devices four times more than before.

You can also put pressure on participants' length to allow you to disable or send them private messages, while calls are still running.

Even now, you can create a call link to plan a call with your friends.

Today, Meta announced some functional changes to the features above, which are meant to provide a smoother calling experience. The update is:

Colorful waveforms: Now, you can easily see who is talking if the camera turns off. When someone talks, a wave of sound on WhatsApp will appear.

Notification of banners in call: With this improvement, you can now see when someone has just joined the group call.

Picture-in-picture on iOS: Now Meta is in beta testing for the dip feature on iOS. This feature is planned to roll out in 2023. With this feature, you can easily make video calls while opening other apps.

"As usual, all calls on WhatsApp are end-to-end encrypted by default to protect people's privacy and security. We will continue to make improvements to next year's call as we continue to support high-quality private calls on WhatsApp wherever you are," Meta wrote.
