JAKARTA - After day after day, Disney has finally started rolling out subscription packages with ad support named Disney+ Basic on its platform.

It is known, the Disney+ Basic package is only available to users in the US, and is priced at 7.99 US dollars or around Rp. 124 thousand.

While currently only available in the US, Disney revealed that the Basic package will roll out to more countries starting next year.

"Today's launch marks an important moment for Disney+ and puts consumer choices at the forefront," Michael Paull, president of Direct to Consumer, said in a statement on The Walt Disney Company website.

With this new ad-supported offer, Paull said, Disney hopes to provide greater flexibility for consumers to enjoy the incredible and deep story of The Walt Disney Company.

This subscription plan with ads has already been implemented by its competitor, Netflix. Neither Disney+ Basic nor Basic with ads Netflix packages allow watching or download offline.

Other features that were not included in the Disney+ Basic package at launch were GroupWatch, SharePlay, and Dolby Atmos. The ad display will range from 15 to 30 or 45 seconds.

Along with the launch of Disney+ Basic, the company raised the subscription price for ad-free Premium to 10.99/month (Rp171 thousand/month), up from the previous 7.99 US dollars (Rp124 thousand).

Today we welcome Disney+ with advertisements to the largest portfolio. We are committed to connecting clients with the best stories in the world while providing innovations and experiences that prioritize audiences in streaming now and in the future," said Rita Ferro, president, Disney Advertising.
