JAKARTA - Mazda Motor Corporation shared several updates to its medium-term management plans and basic management policies towards 2030 in solving social problems with electrification strategies.

The Japanese company outlined plans to become carbon neutral worldwide by 2035 and an updated electrification strategy until 2030.

"Towards carbon neutrality by 2050, we have set an intermediate target of carbon neutrality for our global plant by 2035," the company said in an announcement shared on Twitter.

Mazda summarizes that there are at least three phases to achieve its electrification mission, among others:

Mazda assumed the EV ratio in global sales by 2030 could reach 25 percent to 40 percent.

Not only pursuing electrification targets, but Mazda will also accelerate the development of advanced driver assistance technology by conducting in-depth research on humans and understanding and modeling the mechanisms of the human body and brain.

"We aim to achieve zero fatal accidents. In addition, we will continue to invest in digital human resources that can control AI and IT," the company concluded.
