JAKARTA - Alibaba Cloud, the backbone of digital technology and Alibaba Group intelligence announced the launch of the ModelScope, an open-source Model-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform that comes with hundreds of AI models, including a large pre-training model for global developers and researchers.

In addition, Alibaba Cloud also introduced various serverless database products and improved integrated data analytics and smart computing platforms to help customers achieve further business innovation through cloud technology.

"Courtary computing has brought about a fundamental revolution as computing resources are regulated, manufactured, and used commercially while changing the software development paradigm and accelerating cloud integration and endpoint terminals," said Jeff Zhang, President of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence at his year conference, Apsara Conference, received Friday, November 11.

Maas to create a transparent and inclusive technology community

The ModelScope platform, which was launched today, is equipped with more than 300 ready-to-use AI models developed by Alibaba DAMO Academy ("DAMO"), Alibaba's global research initiative, in the last five years.

The model covers a wide range of fields ranging from computer vision to natural language processing (NLP) and audio. The platform also includes more than 150 state-of-the-art (SOTA) models, which are recognized globally as the best in their respective fields to achieve results in the tasks given.

As an open-source community, ModelScope aims to make developers and researchers able to easily test models online and free of charge and get their test results within minutes.

They can also develop customized AI applications by fine-tune existing models, and run online models supported by Alibaba Cloud, or deploy them on other cloud platforms or in local settings.

The launch underscores DAMO's continued efforts and commitments to promote transparent and inclusive technologies to build and run AI models and enable small universities and companies to easily use AI in their respective research and business.
