JAKARTA Google Cloud is starting to penetrate into the Web3 industry. This is marked by the establishment of company cooperation with other protocols engaged in blockchain development.

Google Cloud, a division of American multinational tech giant Alphabet Inc, has announced that it is now a validator for Solana's blockchain protocol. As detailed by the tech giant, it will create many growth opportunities for Solana-based protocols to scale up and connect with a wider world.

Google Cloud announced the move on Saturday, November 5 adding that it will launch Blockchain Node Engine for Solana protocol by 2023. The company describes the proposed node machine as a "fully managed node hosting service" for the Solana blockchain, according to a Coinpeaker report.

"We want to make one click to run Solana nodes in a cost-effective way," said Google Web3 product manager Narin Mittal at a

Google said its plans for the Solana blockchain and will actively participate in network growth and affairs. The tech giant said it would index all of Solana's data by the end of the first quarter of 2023. The company also confirmed that once full indexing, it would add data to its BigQuery Data Warehouse, a push that would "easy Solana's developer ecosystem to access historical data."

Part of the benefits that startups will have in the Solana ecosystem is access to Google's credit program. Google Cloud announced that "elected startups in the Solana ecosystem" will be able to apply for up to 100.000 in the form of Cloud Credit.

The adoption of cloud-based services as a substrate for the development of blockchain-based entities grows at a highly sporadic rate. Although there are decentralized cloud alternatives, most exchanges and protocols still prefer services from centralized offerings, because they are considered more stable, secure, and functional today.

Not Only Partnering with Solana

The cloud computing service company owned by Alphabet Inc. also formed partnerships with other protocols from the blockchain industry including Near Protocol, Hedera Hashgraph, Dapper Labs, and other companies.

Google Cloud is the leading leader as a cloud service provider company. Even so, Google Cloud is also the main choice for developers of the Web3 industry because of the completeness and speed of infrastructure provided by the company.

"The Web3 company and project selected Google Cloud because it is faster and easier to solve things. Reducing infrastructure maintenance, special tools, and operations needs," Google said in a description of the benefits that would be obtained by the protocol built on it.

As a big player in his field, Google Cloud is not alone and has to compete with other companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
