BENGKAYANG - Head of the Communication and Information Office (Kominfo) of Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, Aleksius said that his party continues to strive to meet the needs of internet access for the community by building a number of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) at various location points. "To meet the needs of telecommunication access via the internet in Bengkayang Regency, one of which is by building a number of BTS towers at various location points. Last year we proposed 19 towers and were grateful that this year it has been realized," said Aleksius when contacted in Bengkayang, Saturday, October 29. This number has not fully met the needs of the community as a whole in obtaining internet access.

"The problem of internet access has not been evenly distributed due to the geographical and demographic location of Bengkayang, which has many hills. In the future, all regions will get the same rights, but it takes time and process to implement it, especially in the islands and mountains," he explained. In the meantime, Deputy Chairman of the Bengkayang Regency DPRD assesses that internet coverage in the digital era is very important to make it easier for people to communicate. "We have entered a digital era. Border and inland communities also need internet network coverage so they can also get information from outside quickly," he explained. According to him, currently internet network services in the center of Bengkayang are already maximal, but still not evenly distributed in all sub-districts in Bengkayang Regency. "There is still an area that does not feel the special internet coverage at the border and the isolated sub-district area, so it needs to be the government's attention as well," he said.
