JAKARTA - Volkswagen Group is announcing its partnership between its software company, CARIAD and Horizon Robotics, one of the leading providers of computing solutions for smart vehicles in China.

This partnership aims to strengthen development competence and promote technology localization, with development focused on regional development of the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) systems in China.

As part of the partnership, CARIAD and Horizon Robotics plan to set up a joint venture, with CARIAD as majority shareholders. VW will invest around 2.4 billion euros (Rp37.6 trillion), which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023.

CARIAD and Horizon Robotics are jointly planning to develop highly optimal ADAS/AD stack solutions for China to drive integration of multiple functions on a single chip, improve system stability, save costs, and reduce energy consumption.
