JAKARTA - Instagram again gives users control over what they see in the application on their Direct Message (DM). Through a new feature, users are more secure to use the application.

According to a report by The Verge, Instagram is allegedly working on a new feature that will hide nude or inappropriate photos sent via DM.

Indeed, this feature is still under development, which was discovered by developer Alessandro Paluzzi. On his Twitter account, Paluzzi posted a screenshot of the new feature.

According to a Paluzzi screenshot, the tool is currently called the Nudity Protection and appears to detect and cover nude photos sent to users' DMs.

Launching Digital Trends, Friday, September 22, the screenshot also shows a brief description of the tools being processed. Where according to the user company is still allowed to see photos if they want, but will remain closed until they make that choice.

Then, this feature can be activated or disabled in the settings at any time. While Instagram can detect and cover photos that are considered nudity, Instagram still cannot access photos.

In response to the appearance of this feature, Meta stated that it is currently still under development and it is not known exactly when it will be launched to all users. The company also confirmed the tool will not allow Meta to share DM with third parties or even view messages.
