JAKARTA - WhatsApp launched a new feature, namely Story reactions similar to those on Instagram to some of its users through the recently launched Google Play Beta Program version 2.22.17.24.

According to information shared by WABetainfo, just like the reaction feature for Instagram Stories, the Story reaction feature on WhatsApp also allows users to react to other users' statuses.

If you look at the screenshots shared, it seems that WhatsApp released this feature by giving eight emoji options to some lucky beta testers to react to their friends' WhatsApp statuses.

It should be noted, if you have downloaded the WhatsApp beta update to the latest version, not all testers will be able to experience this new feature, because according to existing records, this feature will only be provided by "lucky" testers.

If you want to see if you get into the lucky tester or not, it's pretty easy to be sure. Try to see the status update of one of your contacts, then swipe up. If you're lucky, you'll see these eight reaction emojis.

The eight emojis are Smiling Face with Heart Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points.

"When someone reacts to your status update, the emoji will be sent as a message so you are always notified when you receive a reaction to your status," according to a WABetainfo report.

It was also recently reported that WhatsApp will be rolling out a capability that will allow users to view previous participants in a group which can be viewed within the group info. So, when you open the group info, the "see past participants" option will appear. From there, you'll be able to find users who have left or been removed from the group within the last 60 days.
