Mercedes Benz Company Reportedly To Open An E-Truck Charging Park In Germany

JAKARTA - German automotive manufacturer, Mercedes Benz collaborates with Netze BW (a subsidiary of EnBW) to open an e-Truck charging park in Germany.

According to a report from InsideEVs, they will open the station in Wörth, Germany, where the company manufactures the all-electric eActros and eEconic trucks.

The company says that the station will be equipped with a total of six charging stations, with chargers from various manufacturers.

Output currently varies between 40 kW and 300 kW, but is expected to be increased in the future using the Megawatt Charging System (MCS).

"By providing different charging options in one place, customers have the opportunity to compare them directly," the company said.

Further, they said, at the same time, eTruck Charging Park also tackles important issues such as grid connection, local energy generation, energy storage, and intelligent management of charging processes.

"In our transformation to mobility, our goal is to offer our customers more than just electric trucks. We want to provide an integrated solution that includes consulting and charging infrastructure solutions from a single source," said Michael Scheib, Head of Truck Product Management at Mercedes-Benz.

One of eTruck Charging Park's focuses is on personal customer consultation, known as eConsulting. That way, customers can learn firsthand how to integrate emotions into their own fleet and work processes.

Because customers need the opportunity to test equipment and expert support before setting up their own charging infrastructure.

Currently, Mercedes-Benz Trucks produces two electric models, namely the eActros and eEconic. But that's just the beginning, as the spring eActros LongHaul will launch in 2024.
