JAKARTA - Netflix has announced a partnership with German audio specialist Sennheiser to create a better audio experience.

Using AMBEO technology, Netflix is the first streaming platform where users will be pampered by changing standard stereo audio into an immersive surround-like audio experience.

The streaming platform giant has added support for spatial audio to its hit original shows such as Red Notice, The Witcher, The Adam Project, and the latest season of Stranger Things. In addition, the Resident Evil live-action series which will be released on July 14 will also support this latest technology.

"Netflix's spatial audio helps translate an immersive audio cinematic experience to any stereo," Sennheiser said on his blog.

Netflix says the new audio technology is compatible with all devices, without the need for dedicated surround speakers or expensive home theater equipment. You can also experience immersive audio from all Netflix subscriptions automatically upgrade.

To try the surround speaker experience, you just need to enter "Spatial Audio" in the Netflix search bar. From there, you'll see a list of movie or series titles that are supported by this technology.
