JAKARTA - BMW Motorrad released the R18 Classic Tourer with a new 1,802cc two-cylinder "Big Boxer" engine.

The boxer engine borrows BMW R5 technology, which is air cooled and the ability to generate 92 PS of power with a peak torque of 150 Nm.

Reporting from the company's official website, BMW Motorrad stated that the R18 Classic Tourer carries a more vintage design to evoke nostalgia for big motorcycle enthusiasts.

Some of the ornaments that make the R18 Classic Tourer look older are the use of classic passenger seats, saddle bags, larger visor mirrors and 16-inch diameter front wheels.

Even though it looks old, the R18 Classic uses new telescopic forks, new central suspension support arms, dual disc brakes on the front wheels, and LED lights.

The driver's sitting position is also claimed to be more ergonomic thanks to the footpeg that is attached more to the center, which also functions as a balance regulator.

R18 Classic, which is a competitor to Harley Davidson, comes in three riding modes, Rain, Roll and Rock. Some of the safety features found on the motorbike are ASC (Automatic Stability Control) and Hill Start Control.

The motorbike was sold for IDR 450 million before tax.
