JAKARTA - Entering summer in the United States, Google Maps now has two new tools that can be used to keep you safe and healthy during summer activities.

To add an air quality layer to your map, you just need to press the layer button in the right corner of your screen, then select Air Quality under Map details. The next feature is the addition of a layer to check Forest Fires. This Google feature can help you navigate wildfires safely. To run this feature, Google is working with the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) to see more details about active fires in the area.
Unfortunately, this feature is only available in the United States. You can find the tool on your phone, but it won't work if you're located in a region outside the US.
