PLN Starts Placing SPKLU In The Capital City Of The Archipelago

JAKARTA - The capital city of the archipelago is designed to be a future city that is environmentally friendly. One way is to create an electric vehicle infrastructure. For this reason, PLN has begun to place one Public Electricity Charging Station (SPLU) in the Nusantara Capital Zero Point (IKN) area. This SPLU is expected to help government officials, security forces, and the community to get quality PLN electricity when visiting or holding events at the IKN Zero Point.

"So even though at this time IKN is still far from everywhere, but there is electricity. We, PLN, have arrived here," said PT PLN (Persero) Sumatra Kalimantan Regional Business Director Adi Lumakso this weekend,

The Zero Point of IKN is at least 50 km northeast of Penajam, the capital of North Penajam Paser Regency, or 70 km from Balikpapan, and almost 90 km southwest of Samarinda, the provincial capital of East Kalimantan. It is also about 50 km south of Tenggarong, the capital of Indonesia's richest district, Kutai Kartanegara, through industrial forest plantations.

Lumakso added, at this early stage, PLN will build two mobile substations (GI) in Gersik located around Point Zero with a capacity of 30 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) each. The mobile GI will be connected to the Kariangau – Petung High Voltage Air Line (SUTT), targeted for completion in August and December 2022.

"In the short term, we will build two substations around the Gersik area using mobile transformer equipment that we relocated from Java Island," Adi continued, as quoted by Antara.

Then IKN's electricity needs will be supplied from the Kalimantan interconnection system which currently connects the provinces of South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and East Kalimantan with a capacity of 1,729 megawatts (MW). Currently the system absorbs 1,305 megawatts of power so that there is a power reserve of 424 MW.

With the availability of electricity as an economy being a determining factor for growth and attractiveness of investment, PLN will complete the construction of electricity infrastructure with the best quality.
