JAKARTA - The new odd-even (Gage) system will be implemented in DKI Jakarta on June 6, 2022. In this system, there will be 25 roads in the capital city that will apply the odd-even system.

As before, the operational hours of the Gage system will start at 06.00-10.00 WIB and 16.00-21.00 WIB and are valid from Monday to Friday. Meanwhile, on national holidays, the odd-even system does not apply.

The large number of Gage areas will make it difficult for users of private four-wheeled vehicles to remember them. But it won't be a big problem if vehicle users use features from Google Maps.

This map and navigation application from Google is equipped with a feature that allows users to search for routes according to their vehicle plate number.

The directory on Google Maps will add the latest data if there are changes in traffic engineering in the field. This includes the addition of locations from the odd-even system in Jakarta.

Here's how to find out the Gage area using Google Maps.

Open the Google Maps app on your phone and enter the location you want to visit. First, make sure that the GPS feature on your phone is active. Click the “Directions” button to see the route that will be passed. Select the vehicle type option by pressing the car icon below the location information you want to go to. After the route appears, click the three-dot icon located in the upper right corner of the application screen and select “Route Options”. Next, the Driving Options menu appears asking if your vehicle number plate is odd or even. The determination of the odd and even numbers is based on the last one digit of the vehicle plate number. Click the Done button. Then Google Maps will show you which route you should take.
