Free Fire Group Stage Recap At SEA Games 2021: Indonesia Wins With 139 Points

JAKARTA - The Free Fire esports competition opened the struggle for Indonesian electronic sports athletes at the 2021 SEA Games, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The Free Fire competition this time was participated by five Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and not to forget the host Vietnam.

The two Indonesian representative teams at the SEA Games Free Fire, Team Garuda and Team Rajawali managed to get their respective Booyah during the match on Friday, May 13 at the Vietnam National Convention Center.

The results of the matches in the Group Stage are determined based on seven rounds of play. Indonesia 1 (Garuda) excelled in the first and second rounds, respectively.

In the third round, the team from the White Elephant country, Thailand won the victory. However, in the fourth game, the Indonesian team 2 (Rajawali) won the victory again.

In the last three rounds, Thailand took all the wins. As the final result of today's Free Fire Group Stage match, the Garuda team managed to get two wins, Rajawali got one win, Thailand 1 with three wins, and Thailand 2, one win.

The last accumulation of total points on the Free Fire Group Stage was led by the Garuda team with 139 points, which was then followed by Thailand 1 with 104 points, and in third place was the Rajawali team which was only 2 points adrift of 102.

CozQ, an athlete from the Thailand national team became MVP in the first day of the match with 22 kills. Then followed by four Indonesian national team players from the Garuda team who have a difference of one point with each player. Fajar and Manurung with 21 kills, while Shahin and Ibnu with 20 kills.

The two teams from Indonesia looked consistent during the match, if Indonesia was always in the top five positions in each round.

Surprisingly, in the last round, Indonesia seemed to be tired so both teams under Fayad's training had to be eliminated more quickly in 10th and 9th positions.

Despite being weak in the last round, if you look at the total points that have been collected by Indonesia today, it shouldn't burden the athletes in the Grand Final later.

After the match was over, Manurung said that he was 100 percent sure that Indonesia could win the gold medal at the 2021 SEA Games.
