JAKARTA - If you are a PlayStation 5 owner, you probably know the hassle of having to connect to your console to update the firmware for your DualSense controller.
However, it seems that Sony has heard the complaints of its consumers. Finally, on Wednesday, April 20, Sony released an app for Windows 11 and 64-bit Windows 10 computers that lets you update its DualSense PS5 controller firmware.
Previously, the update process required you to connect a controller to the PS5 console, which many people haven't had due to ongoing chip shortages and high demand.
This new app is especially helpful for PC gamers looking to purchase DualSense to use as a Bluetooth controller.

In a page dedicated to the announcement, Sony details the steps players will have to take to update their controllers via their Windows PCs, including downloading Sony's firmware update app and connecting their wireless controllers using a USB cable.
Sony is slowly making improvements in the way it updates DualSense. This kicked off a new PS5 feature last year that lets you manually update the firmware in the console's settings.
Players will be regularly notified of new firmware updates and asked to update their controllers to the latest version via the firmware app.
