Here's How To Temporarily Deactivate Your Twitter Account

JAKARTA - If you are a Twitter user since 2012 or even since Twitter was first founded, and you are tired of playing this application with the blue bird logo, you can deactive your account for a while.

Don't worry, your account doesn't have to be permanently deleted. If you feel empty and directionless after doing this, you can get your account back up to 30 days after doing this. Here's how:

Disable Twitter Account in Browser

If you're using a computer or mobile browser, go to Twitter.com and sign in to your account. To disable:

1. On the web, click the More item at the bottom left of the screen. 2. In the mobile browser, tap the profile icon3. Select Settings and Privacy then Your Account4. At the bottom of the list, tap Deactivate your account5. Go to the bottom of the page to find the Deactivate link

There will be a lot of information on the page before you open that link. Some of them are quite useful. There is a full description of what can no longer be seen, such as your display name, @username and public profile.

A guarantee that you can recover your account "for some time" if it was accidentally or incorrectly deleted, and a way to reactivate it after 30 days or 12 months.

Deactivate Twitter Account in Twitter App

1. Open the Twitter app. If you don't have it, first install it on the Google PlayStore or App Store.

Your account will not be permanently lost after this process. Twitter retains your information for 30 days before deleting it permanently. To recover your account, log back in and confirm that you want to reactivate your account.

If you plan to create a new Twitter account with the same username and email address as the account you deactivated, switch your current account to a different username and email address before you deactivate it.

If you want to download your Twitter data, do so before disabling it. Twitter cannot send data from inactive accounts.

Cached results of Google and other search engines, meaning your old profile and tweets may still show up in response to occasional search queries. However, anyone who clicks on it will get an error message.
