JAKARTA - Microsoft is rolling out an update that lets you press the Xbox button on your controller to switch input to either the X series or the S series.
You can also switch to cable TV during the download. You no longer need a remote when you want to play Xbox after watching TV. All you need now is to grab your Xbox controller when you're ready to play.
This news was revealed by Larry Hryb or who is known as the Xbox Live Gamertag "Major Nelson" through a tweet on his Twitter on Wednesday, April 6. Hryb is the Programming Director for the Microsoft Xbox Live gaming network.
"Starting today, when you press the Xbox button on your controller once, you'll be able to switch the input back to your Xbox. If you're using a different TV input waiting for a download or update, you can press the Xbox button once to switch back to Xbox input, ' wrote Hryb.

This feature relies on newer Xbox console support for HDMI-CEC. You can enable it through the "Sleep mode & startup" settings section via the "TV & A/V power options" option.
This concept is not entirely new, either on consoles or for HDMI-CEC devices in general. Still, it's hard to complain when it can save you time browsing the TV menus only to return to Halo Infinite.
