JAKARTA - Microsoft will reportedly add the family plan as a separate subscription tier to its Xbox Game Pass which will launch later this year. This description appears from Windows Central, quoted Friday, April 1st.

For now, some details remain unclear for now. For example, will there be separate Family Plans for PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass consoles, or will they all be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The exact price is also unknown. In addition, it is reported that this family package will be much cheaper than having to pay several separate accounts as currently required.

But when exactly all this will be announced is not known for certain. However, Microsoft is preparing to announce it to the public in the relatively near future.

When several media contacted Microsoft to confirm the news, but the company kept its mouth shut for now.

“We're always looking for ways to improve the Game Pass experience and add more value to members, which includes regular testing and feature enhancements based on community feedback. However, we have nothing to announce at this time," a Microsoft spokesperson wrote in an email to Engadget.

Unlike Netflix, Spotify, and many other subscription services, Xbox Game Pass doesn't currently have the option for multiple users to share a single account.

This family plan is likely to give Microsoft an extra edge over Sony's PlayStation, which this week announced a series of new subscription plans to rival Game Pass.
