JAKARTA - Microsoft is rumored to be launching a remote streaming feature on iOS devices soon in its Xbox app update. The update is currently being tested in by TestFlight members.
Quoting The Verge, Monday, September 28, these features are actually the same as those released recently by the Android version. For those unfamiliar, it differs from the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service, where users can stream games from the cloud to their mobile devices.
Instead, it will connect the games you own from the Xbox console to your mobile device, and act like a kind of local server. Reportedly, the update will launch on November 10 at the Microsoft S latest Xbox Series X and series event.
Users can also access the Xbox console using Wi-Fi, or even LTE and 5G connections as well. Because this application controls the Xbox that is at home, users can access the console remotely outside the home. The Xbox will start up silent or the Xbox light on the front, and when the user disconnects, the Xbox will return to standby after a period of inactivity.
Interestingly, although Microsoft previously complained about Apple's restrictions on game streaming apps, it seems that the company will still adhere to Apple's App Store rules. Basically, Apple finally relaxed its rules regarding game streaming earlier this month.
While there are new rules that open the door for game streaming services like xCloud to come to iOS devices, companies like Microsoft will still be on the limit.
Due to the fact, the rules require that all games available on streaming services also need to be listed individually on the App Store, this is Apple's way of reviewing game apps to ensure that they meet App Store requirements.
