JAKARTA - Paramount Pictures has partnered with King, to celebrate the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in theaters. You'll also soon see Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends in Candy Crush Saga.
Sonic and Tails will join the match-3 puzzle game from March 31 to April 4. Sonic will try to recover the emerald master of Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik and Jelly Queen by breaking candies. However, only players who have reached 25 can participate in this special event.
You will get energy by solving the special Sonic Candy Crush which will be included in the game. That energy can be used to complete tasks in treasure quests, and also gain power-ups. The event will feature Sonic-inspired music and sound effects specially created by developer Candy Crush King.
"Sonic is a character loved around the world and one that fits perfectly into our gaming narrative," said Jennifer Sharp, vice president of mobile partnerships at Activision Blizzard King, in a press release.
Sharp also hopes viewers of Sonic and Candy Crush will be drawn to the exciting new world they have created together.
Previously, Candy Crush Saga had partnered with other major theatrical releases, such as the Space Jam event in July 2021 where LeBron James joined the game. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 hits theaters on April 8, while Sonic's next video game adventure, Sonic Frontiers, is slated for a 2022 release.
