How to Add Text to TikTok Videos

Adding text and text boxes to your TikTok videos is quite easy. You can do this in the same editing menu where you add effects, sounds, and stickers.

Launch the TikTok app on your mobile device. Next, capture or select the video you want to use. Once TikTok takes you to the video editing menu, tap the Text (Aa) icon at the bottom of the screen. Type the words you want to place in your video. Tap the text alignment bar just to the left of the font options to align your text to the left, right, or center. Tap Done when you are done typing and designing the text. You can then adjust the position of the text manually by dragging it across your screen. Tap Next to open the upload menu, where you can now upload or draft a captioned video.

Since TikTok allows users to merge videos, if you like, you can also add captions to each merged video. You just need to perform the steps highlighted above.

You can also add a few lines of text or add a few words to your TikTok video by repeating these steps and treating each piece of text as a separate element or sticker.

How to Edit Text on TikTok

If there are errors in the text that you have created, you can edit the added text before moving to the publishing menu if more patches are needed.

Tap the relevant text. Select Set duration from the options that appear. Next, drag the time slider at the bottom of the screen left or right to set the text time frame however you like. Tap the play button above the time slider to preview how the captions will appear on the video. Once you are satisfied, tap on the check mark symbol at the bottom right corner of the screen.
