He also helped revitalize the gambang Kromong style through beloved songs such as Ondel-Ondel. Looking at his journey, Benjamin's acting career began in the early 70s, and through his distinctive comedic style, he has been praised for successfully portraying Betawi culture more accurately.

Benyamin also founded Radio Ben in 1990, which is the only radio station in Indonesia dedicated to Betawi. Radio Ben continues to play Benjamin's music to this day.
