JAKARTA - The Grab shuttle service will operate geofencing technology that can detect and warn Grab driver-partners not to crowd in one place. This initiative aims to assist the government and the people of DKI Jakarta during Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB).
"This technology was introduced to ensure driver partners maintain a safe distance according to government advice, and also to maintain their health. Driver partners who are detected are crowding, will receive alerts via text messages or pop-ups in their driver partner applications," said the Director of Government. "Since the announcement of the Second Total PSBB, our team has continued to look for effective ways so that we can still protect the livelihoods and health of our partners," said Uun.
Uun said that geofencing technology has actually been used since Grab started its operation. "We are implementing it to help the monitoring process for driver-partners in this field starting Monday, September 14," he added.
