JAKARTA - WhatsApp is developing a new feature in the form of a tab for the community called Community in the instant messaging application. The WABetaInfo page, quoted on Saturday 5 March, saw the Community tab in the WhatsApp application beta version 2.22.6.9 for Android. Based on their findings, the Community tab is located at far left, replacing the tab for the camera. The Community Home will contain a list of communities that the user is following. Communities in the WhatsApp application contain a number of groups. WhatsApp group admins, when this feature comes, will be able to add chat groups to the Community.
In addition to the Community tab, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature for recording voice messages, found in the Android beta version 2.22.6.7. WhatsApp designed a pause button, not just stop, for recording voice messages. The pause button serves to pause while recording a voice message, after which the user can continue recording again. The pause voice recording feature already exists on the desktop and iOS versions of WhatsApp, however, it is not yet available on Android. These new features are still under development, may be released when WhatsApp updates the instant messaging app.
