Twitter Experiences Another Exodus Of Two Important Security Officials

JAKARTA - Twitter Inc. has experienced another exodus from its top officials. The US social media company said on Friday, January 21, that its chief security officer was no longer at the company and that its chief information security officer would also step down in the coming weeks.

The reshuffle comes after Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down as chief executive in November. He handed the reins to top deputy Parag Agrawal, who has since reorganized the social media company's leadership structure.

Twitter did not specify whether the departure of the two security officials was voluntary or other factors.

Peiter Zatko, a notorious hacker better known as "Mudge," was appointed head of security in 2020. The appointment comes after Twitter suffered a security breach that allowed hackers to tweet from verified accounts for public figures including billionaire Bill Gates and CEO Tesla, Elon Musk.

The New York Times first reported on Zatko's departure and the upcoming departure of Rinki Sethi as CISO earlier on Friday. Zatko and Sethi could not immediately be reached for comment.
