JAKARTA - Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and village administrations have great potential to be able to convey accurate and balanced information. Especially for the public to remain disciplined in implementing the 5M health protocol (washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility). This needs to be done to prevent the third wave of COVID-19 in the country.

An effective communication strategy is needed so that all the information submitted and other efforts made by Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and village governments can be well received by the community.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemenkominfo) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Directorate General of Regional Advocates of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Director General of Village Government Development together with strategic partners, namely the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN), held an agenda for strengthening and socializing Nataru's pocket book.

In addition, the winner of the video competition against COVID-19 was announced in order to develop the potential of Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and village governments throughout Indonesia.

Opening this event, Director of Public Communications Governance and Partnership, Hasyim Gautama said that currently the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia has shown a significant, controlled and stable improvement.

Even the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 can be reduced to below 400 cases per day. However, he reminded all parties to remain vigilant considering the emergence of a new variant of Omicron which has been confirmed in several countries in the world. "Right now we have to be more prepared to face this Nataru holiday," he added.

Regarding preparations for handling the COVID-19 pandemic on this year's Nataru holiday, he also reminded the importance of moving together to shape people's behavior through education and the delivery of the latest information.

The quality of the Satpol PP Satlinmas ranks and the village government is one of the main keys in achieving this goal. He also appreciated the creativity and innovation of the Satpol PP Satlinmas ranks who had participated in the video competition Against COVID-19.

"This is a form of collaboration to educate the public about handling COVID-19," he said.

On the same occasion the Director of Satpol PP and Satlinmas of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Bernhard Rondonuwu, S.Sos., M.Sc., said that there are two main tasks carried out by the Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and village governments, namely the task of preventing and dealing with COVID-19 and enforcing the use of the PeduliLindung application.

He hopes that in carrying out the two tasks of Satpol PP, Satlinmas, and village governments, they must continue to be guided by the SOPs that have been set, prioritize a humane attitude, and continue to consider local wisdom in each region so that information, appeals and messages can be received. properly and carried out by the community sincerely and without any sense of coercion.

On the other hand, the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Facilitating Village Financial Management at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dra. Farida Kurnianingrum, MM, who said that currently there have been 62,533 village posts from 74,961 villages in Indonesia. The establishment of this village post aims to ensure that the spread of the COVID-19 virus can be controlled down to the smallest community level.

Regarding the use of the budget, Farida emphasized that the village government has a budget that can be used to facilitate activities related to the prevention and control of COVID-19 in each region.

He also provided several notes in terms of managing village finances in order to continue to prioritize the principles of prudence, efficiency, and effectiveness, and ensure the existence of the role of village posts in efforts to handle COVID-19.
