JAKARTA - Spotify has again brought a new feature to make the user experience better, by adopting Apple's Podcast feature, namely Podcast Charts.
This feature is a star rating system, which can make it easier for users to support their favorite podcast shows by providing reviews and ratings from 1 to 5 stars.
The company says the feature will roll out in the coming days in almost all markets where the Spotify podcast is located.
Spotify explains, features like its podcast chart have helped users discover new shows, and the same goes for personalized service recommendations. But until now, there was no real way for listeners to see what other people thought about an event on the app.
Just like Apple, Spotify will display the number of ratings in brackets next to the average score on each podcast page.
Of course, this system will also allow content creators to see how their podcast is performing among listeners, right from the people who listened to the show.
Even so quoted from TechCrunch, Friday, December 17, according to professional podcaster Evo Terra in a tweet saying that ratings and reviews do not affect charting. Apple as the first pembesut feature itself also admits it.
In response, Spotify stated, “Ratings are a great way for potential listeners to quickly gauge show quality, but at this point show ratings don't count towards podcast charts or personalized recommendations.
So, it's a tool for showing fans what they think about podcasts, but for now, not something that can help shows make their way onto Spotify's charts or pick lists.
