Sony Makes PS5 More Lively Now Has Amazing New Colors, What Are?

JAKARTA - PlayStation 5 (PS5) fans are now not only available in white, because Sony has finally announced a PS5 special cover (faceplate) with a variety of color choices.

The console cover will be available in Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, and Midnight Black. This will only work on PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition.

Sony plans to release the PS5 Cosmic Red and Midnight Black console covers in January in most markets where the PS5 is sold, with other colors to follow in the first half of 2022.

The new cover is designed to match the colors found on the new pink, blue, and purple DualSense controller options. The new colors will be available in early versions of Galactic Purple in the UK, US and Germany through Sony's early access PlayStation direct program.

Reporting from The Verge, Tuesday, December 14, another retailer will provide the purple DualSense controller on February 11. Sony also plans to offer the PS5 black cover on January 21 on the PlayStation direct online store, with availability at other retailers on February 18.

According to reports, the PS5 cover will be available for $54.99 and the new controller options are priced at $74.99 and some of them are available for preorder via Amazon.

Sony's announcement of a new console cover comes just weeks after the company patented its PS5 cover. Sony has been caught up in legal action against several third-party companies that have sold the black faceplates.

One of them is DBrand, which is facing legal action from Sony, forcing the company to withdraw its faceplates and replace them a few days later with a new design and a marketing campaign that mocks Sony's attorneys.
