JAKARTA - YouTube is reported to be broadcasting a full 24-hour event featuring musicians including BTS as well as creator content on its video streaming platform.

The event, dubbed Escape2021, is aimed at taking a look back at the biggest trends and videos on the platform in 2021. Escape2021, will have three shows, the first of which kicks off December 16 at midnight ET.

Escape2021 comes after the company removed YouTube Rewind, a high-production recap video the company releases at the end of every year. But unfortunately, Rewind always gets a bad response by content creators for cleaning up the platform to attract advertisers

Even so, Escape2021 isn't meant to replace Rewind but offers a new way to celebrate the year's biggest trend.

Apparently, the event is YouTube's attempt to offer a more immersive online experience, such as when fans watched the butter melt logo trailer ahead of the release of BTS's new song.

At its Espace2021 event, YouTube says there will be trivia questions, trend-based challenges, and real-time hands-on experiences, all leading up to the music show. The event will feature BTS, Doja Cat, Mark Rober and others.
