Twitter Also Wants To Acquire TikTok In The United States

JAKARTA - TikTok is now something that is being contested in the United States (US). After Microsoft, it is now Twitter's turn to make an offer with this short video application.

Quoting Gizmodo, Monday, August 10, although it is not certain, Twitter plans to acquire TikTok. Quoting one insider, Twitter has explored after Microsof.

Even if the opportunity for the microblogging social network network is smaller than Microsoft. Twitter however, intends to acquire an ownership stake from TikTok in the US.

When it comes to funding, Twitter certainly doesn't have as much money as other tech giants. The reason is, TikTok's business in the US is currently worth tens of billions of dollars, and that will become a serious obstacle when Twitter's market capitalization is only 29 billion US dollars.

This is certainly inversely proportional to Microsoft which has total funding of more than US $ 1.6 trillion. Of course, if Twitter really intends it then the company will need to enlist help from investors and take on huge amounts of debt.

It is known that this is not the first time Twitter has tried to acquire a creative platform. Twitter had previously been close to getting a deal with Vine, which was forced to close in 2017.

Previously, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said he had spoken with Trump about the possibility of acquiring TikTok, which will include TikTok operations in the US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Microsoft has said it expects talks to be completed by September 15.

For information, the report underscores the pressure on TikTok. Trump has given the company until September 15 to sell its US operations if it wants to circumvent a ban in the country. TikTok doesn't have much time to close the deal, and that means it's open to anyone looking to take an offer of a suitable value.
