JAKARTA - Google has just released a beta version of Chrome 97. Although it doesn't bring major changes from the recently released version of Chrome 96, Chrome 97 can improve user privacy.

The company has reconfigure the Privacy and Security settings in the latest beta release of Chrome 97, in an effort to streamline the ability to delete data stored by websites.

The move Google claims will allow web browser users to better understand and manage their privacy on the web, by providing more clarity in controlling site storage settings.

Compiled from GSM Arena, Monday, November 22, starting with the release of Chrome 97 Beta, the Privacy and Security settings page has been redesigned to allow users to delete all data stored by individual sites with a single click.

To delete your data, it is quite easy. If you have installed Chrome 97 beta later, you just need to visit Settings then select Privacy and Security click Site Settings select View permissions and data stored across files.

This improvement will replace more granular controls, which allow users to delete individual cookies. Google says because it can cause unwanted behavior and potentially break websites.

However, the option to delete individual cookies will still be available in DevTools. Google says granular controls are usually only needed by developers, so it's tucking tools out of places where the average person can find them.

Better International Keyboard Support on Chrome Desktop

Some Chrome users may have experienced this, sometimes web situations will default to the United States (US) version of the keyboard layout, even if the user is actually using a physical keyboard that has other symbols.

Since Chrome's support for keyboards is now in development, this should be an advantage, but there are occasions where developers need to be extra vigilant to make sure their website understands which key to press.

The new API makes it easier for websites to retrieve the keyboard in use, with these improvements becoming especially important for Office web applications running in Outlook or Teams. This is also a fix introduced by Microsoft and is coming to Edge.
