JAKARTA - Instagram is a great resource for practicing cooking for the first time. However, it can get really fast, depending on the number of accounts the user is following and the suggested subsequent posts based on one's activity on the platform.

To help with this, Instagram has several features that allow people to save recipe posts for later viewing.

The 'Save to Collection' feature is easily accessible through every post in the Instagram feed. True to its name, it allows users to bookmark posts for later review and add them to a folder containing previously saved posts.

Ideally, similar posts are grouped into one collection to avoid confusion after multiple collections are saved. Users can access all collections, as well as posts in them, via the 'Saved' tab.

Tap the 'Save to Collection' button (vertical ribbon icon) in the bottom right corner of the post to have future access to the Instagram reel, video or post. Next, tap on the 'Save to Collection' link that will appear in the bottom-left corner of the post.

This will bring up a 'Save to' drawer which will contain all existing collection folders. If it's not there, tap + to add and name the new collection. For example, if the user intends to collect different types of recipes, select the name of the collection that correctly describes the posts to be stored in it, such as 'Noodles' or 'Desserts'.

Instagram Saved Collection

To see all the collections so far, tap the Profile icon in the lower-right corner of the page, then the Menu button (the icon with three horizontal bars) in the upper-right corner. Next, tap on 'Saved'. While taking a break from the regular Instagram feed, any user can preview all previously saved recipes on the Saved page, organized by collection.

The 'All Posts' folder with all the bookmarked content arranged in chronological order saved will also be there. Tap on each post to see the required recipe.

To remove a saved post from your collection, tap the post in the group, then tap the 'Save to Collection' button again, so it's no longer highlighted in white. Next, choose between 'Remove from Collection' or 'Delete'. The latter will remove it from everywhere that particular post is stored (if it's also filed under another collection).

To delete multiple Instagram accounts or posts in a collection, tap the collection you want to delete, then the More button (the icon with three dots) in the top right corner. Next, tap 'Select,' and select the post to delete, then press 'Delete.'

The More button is also where users can delete entire collections, edit collection names and cover photos, and add posts from across the 'Saved' folder. This will include posts that have been saved but not necessarily placed in a collection.
