Caleb Plant Strikes Back Mike Tyson: You're Stronger Than Douglas, Holyfield, And Lewis, But It Doesn't Help You

JAKARTA - Caleb Plant hit back at Mike Tyson after the boxing legend nicknamed Iron Mike said Plant would be defeated easily by Canelo Alvarez.

Plant is determined to become the first super-middleweight champion of all time when he faces Alvarez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 6.

Iron Mike said unequivocally who he believed would win the fight. Yes, he supported Alvarez to beat Plant.

"This guy (Canelo Alvarez) is going to kill (Caleb Plant)," Tyson said on a recent episode of the podcast 'Hotboxin with Mike Tyson'.

"He's your friend, you're going to his funeral. He looks like Floyd Mayweather, he's going to screw up."

However, Plant didn't respond well to these words, as he well remembered a number of Tyson's defeats when he seemed to have the physical advantage.

"(Mike Tyson) is stronger than "Buster" Douglas but that doesn't help him," Plant said during an interview with FightHype.com.

"He is determined to win. He was stronger than Lennox Lewis, he was stronger than Evander Holyfield, but there was more to winning a fight than just being stronger than someone.

"There are many keys and many factors involved in the fight and not all of them have to do with strength."

"For anyone who thinks I'm not hitting hard, you can ask Jose Uzcategu," Plant continued.

Uzcategui was dropped twice by Plant when they met in January 2019.
