JAKARTA - The Indonesian senior and U-19 national team will start their first training on Saturday, August 1. This change in initial training was according to the program prepared by the coaching team led by Shin Tae-yong.

Indonesia's senior and U-19 national team players and officials have arrived in Jakarta since last Thursday for a training camp (TC). One day earlier, coach Shin Tae-yong had also landed in Jakarta after traveling to South Korea.

"In accordance with the direction of the Head of PSSI (Mochamad Iriawan), after Shin Tae-yong arrived in Jakarta we immediately coordinated with him. And coach Shin Tae-yong prepared the first training program in the field on August 1," said PSSI Acting Secretary General Yunus Nusi. as reported by the official PSSI website.

On Friday, July 24, all senior national team players and officials and U-19 Indonesia have also conducted a swab test or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). This swab test was carried out by medical officers from the Royal Progress Hospital, Jakarta who had collaborated with PSSI at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, where the Indonesian national team stayed.

"The players will carry out activities at the hotel while waiting for the results of the swab test, which will come out three or four days after the swab test was carried out. We (the PSSI team of doctors) will make nutritional improvements to the players, especially their eating habits. , we do exercise simulations with health protocols before the first exercise, "said the doctor and head of the PSSI medical team, Syarif Alwi.

Since arriving at the Fairmont Jakarta hotel, officials and officials have also carried out strict health protocols which are directly monitored by the PSSI health or medical team. Among them, always wearing a mask starting when leaving the room, keeping a distance when doing activities such as eating, diligently washing hands with soap, always carrying hand sanitizers, checking the temperature, and so on.

On Saturday night, at the direction of PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan, PSSI Deputy Chairman Iwan Budianto accompanied by Acting Secretary General Yunus Nusi and Technical Director Indra Sjafri provided direction and motivation to players and officials. This was done as a form of PSSI's direct support to the Garuda squad which was conducting TC.

"The players looked healthy and excited when we visited the hotel. They were determined to work hard and fight for achievements with the Indonesian national team. PSSI Chairman (Mochamad Iriawan) advised us to continue to accompany and monitor their progress," said Acting Secretary General, Yunus. Nusi.

For the Indonesian senior national team, TC is in preparation for three further matches of the 2022 World Cup Qualification. The three matches are against the host Thailand, October 8, host the United Arab Emirates on October 13, and travel to Vietnam on November 12.

In addition, to face the AFF Cup in November-December. The last Indonesian national team did the TC in February in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the U-19 national team is trained in this TC to take part in the 2020 AFC U-19 Cup which will take place from 14 to 31 October in Uzbekistan. Garuda Muda is in group A with the hosts Uzbekistan, Cambodia and Iran.

Next year, the Garuda Muda squad will appear at the U-20 World Cup where Indonesia will host.
