The appearance of Indonesia as a champion in this edition of the COVID-19 pandemic reaffirms Indonesia's dominance in the Thomas Cup.

Since it was first held, Indonesia has become the country that has won the Thomas Cup the most with 14 titles. China followed with 10 titles. Malaysia, which at the beginning of the event dominated, won 5 times. Meanwhile, Denmark and Japan have only won 1 title.
