Beat Japan 3-1, China Wins Uber Cup 2020

JAKARTA - The Chinese team won the Uber Cup from defending champion Japan after winning 3-1 in the final which took place at Ceres Arena, Aarhus, Denmark, early Sunday.

Citing Antara, the only points achieved by the Sakura Country Team were obtained from women's singles player Akane Yamaguchi who appeared in the opening match. Akane beat Chen Yu Fei 21-18, 21-10.

The Bamboo Curtain Country Team won the next three parties, namely the first women's doubles, the second women's singles, and the second women's doubles.

The pair Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan opened the scoring for Team China by defeating Japanese women's doubles Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto 29-27, 15-21, 21-18 which lasted almost two hours.

He Bing Jiao increased Team China's lead to 2-1 by beating Sayaka Takahashi in two straight games 21-9, 21-18.

The pair Huang Dong Ping/Li Wen Mei ensured Team China took home the Uber Cup by sealing a tight 24-22, 23-21 win over Misaki Matsutomo/Nami Matsuyama which lasted one hour and three minutes.

The victory restored the dominance of China, which was knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Uber Cup in 2018, by taking its title tally to a total of 15.
