Sergio Ramos' Debut At PSG Has Been Delayed Again

JAKARTA - Sergio Ramos' debut with Paris Saint-Germain has been delayed again. The Spaniard has not played a full role in the training session.

PSG face Angers in Ligue 1 on Friday. However, it seems that Ramos will not play. Likewise against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday, 19 October.

On Monday, Le Parisien reported that the 35-year-old will be part of PSG's squad for the game against Angers. However, on Wednesday they revealed the former Real Madrid captain was still training separately.

The French newspaper also said it was highly unlikely that Ramos would play in the game against Leipzig. This claim was backed up by Juanfe Sanz at El Chiringuito on Tuesday night.

"Sergio Ramos has recovered, but he won't be playing on Friday," Sanz told MARCA on Thursday.

"He had permission from the medical staff, but after such a long absence, neither the player nor the coach (Mauricio Pochettino) wanted to rush things.

"It's happened before when he's back in training and has a setback in his first session. They don't want to risk being out another month after a week."

That said, Pochettino and PSG are relaxed about the former Real Madrid captain's situation. They don't want to put Ramos under pressure or force him back too soon, but they believe that soon he will be fully fit and capable of competing at a high level.

It's a question of when, not if, but the French club doesn't care about when either, which is why they themselves have always avoided setting a date for Ramos' comeback and debut.
