LADI Asks The Government To Pay More Attention To Doping Control After WADA's Letter

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Anti-Doping Agency (LADI) for the 2017-2020 period, Zaini K. Saragih, said the government should pay more attention to doping control in Indonesia.

The statement was in response to a letter from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) regarding Indonesia's non-compliance with anti-doping standard enforcement rules for not following the Test Doping Plan (TDP).

"The government must pay sufficient attention to doping control activities," Zaini told VOI, Monday, October 11.

Moreover, he continued, for anti-doping surveillance, it is no longer possible to rely solely on the committee. Need a bigger container to carry out surveillance.

"Anti-doping activities can no longer be carried out on an ad hoc basis, with committees, but must be carried out by permanent organizations with sufficient resources," said Zaini.

Then, Zaini also suggested that solving this problem could be done by communicating intensively with WADA. So, the point of the problem can be conveyed properly.

"Conducting effective communication with WADA, non-compliance conditions, shows organizational bottlenecks in communication or operations," said Zaini.
