Uber Cup: Esther And Greysia Polii Not Fielded Against France

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Uber Cup team will field the same players as the starting line-up against Germany, when they face France, today except for women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo and doubles player Greysia Polii.

Ester, who lost against Germany's Nguyen Thuc Phuong, will not play against France in the Uber Cup Group A qualifying match which will take place at Ceres Arena Aarhus, Denmark, Monday at 13.30 WIB.

For the third single, the Red and White Squad will field Nandini Putri Arumni to face Yaelle Hoyaux.

As for Greysia, she was rested, and her position was replaced by Princess Syaikah.

Previously, women's doubles player Apriyani Rahayu said that the Indonesian Uber Cup Team had to be wary of the French team because it was considered to have equal strength in singles and doubles.

"The French team's strength is very evenly distributed. Therefore, I ask my colleagues to always be vigilant. Like when we played against Germany, we must not be careless," said women's doubles player Apriyani Rahayu, as reported by Antara.

As a very reliable partner for the Red-White squad with Greysia Polii, if they were to be shown again, Apriyani said she would always be ready to go all out.

"We are ready if we are fielded again. Together with Kak Greysia, we will try to get points for the Indonesian team," said the Tokyo Olympic champion.

The Indonesian Uber Team match against France was the second match for the two teams in the Uber Cup Group A qualification. Previously, Indonesia won 4-1 over Germany, while France lost 0-5 to Japan.

Based on the results of the match, Japan temporarily leads Group A, followed by Indonesia, Germany and France. The Indonesian and Japanese teams will face each other on Tuesday.
