JAKARTA - Indonesia successfully defeated Taiwan in the first match of the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying play-off at Chang Arena Buriram Stadium, Thailand, Thursday, October 7. Garuda squad won 2-1.

The two winning goals for Shin Tae-yong's troops were scored by Ramai Rumakiek in the 19th minute and Evan Dimas in the 51st minute. Meanwhile, Taiwan's only goal was scored by Heng-pin Hsu in injury time. With this victory, Indonesia is getting closer to qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying round.

After the match, the general chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan appreciated the victory achieved by the Indonesian national team.

Iriawan added that he always monitors and gets updates on the development of the Indonesian national team while in Thailand. He also often gives motivation to the Garuda squad through video calls.

PSSI hopes that the Indonesian national team, apart from qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup, can also penetrate to the final round. the tournament," added the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule.

Indonesia's second leg against Taiwan will take place on Monday, October 11. The stadium venue is still the same as today's match. However, the kick-off of the match will be at 20.00 local time.
