Say MU Completed Ronaldo Transfer In His Home Garden, Gary Lineker: Ed Woodward My Good Friend And Neighbor

JAKARTA - Former England striker Gary Lineker claims Manchester United deputy CEO Ed Woodward completed the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo in his garden.

This happened because Woodward was next door to the former Barcelona striker.

One of the biggest transfers last summer was Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford from Juventus.

Lineker revealed that most of the negotiations for Ronaldo's transfer were carried out by Woodward in his garden.

"I would say that," Lineker told BBC Sport on Wednesday. “Ed Woodward is a good friend of mine and he's my neighbour. He completed Ronaldo's transfer when he was in my garden!"

"It was incredible. I knew when he came in and he was on the phone (Ronaldo's agent, Jorge) Mendes or someone. I hope I'm not giving away too much here, but he signed it!"

"I have a fantastic photo of Woodward on the phone in the back garden, which I might share one day if he allows it."

On 27 August 2021, Manchester United announced that they had reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Ronaldo.

The Portugal captain has signed a two-year contract, plus the option of a one-year extension at Old Trafford.
