Indonesia Faces Denmark In The Final Match Of Group C Sudirman Cup, Rionny Mainaky: We Will Field Core Players

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Sudirman Cup team will field their core players against Denmark in the last match of Group C in order to come out as the top of the group standings.

"We will field core players. Indonesia will appear with the best strength and the most ready to play," said Head of the Indonesian Badminton Association Executive Board (PP PBSI) Achievement Development Division, said Rionny Mainaky through a PP PBSI press release from Vantaa, Finland, Tuesday reported by Antara.

The Indonesian team will meet Denmark in the match which will take place at Energia Areena, Vantaa, Finland, Wednesday, September 29 at 10.00 a.m. local time, and will be the match to determine the winner of Group C.

Both Indonesia and Denmark have bagged two wins. Indonesia won 5-0 over the National Badminton Federation of Russia (NBFR) and 3-2 over Canada. While Denmark won 5-0 over Canada and 4-1 over NBFR.

These results put Denmark at the top of the Group C standings, followed by Indonesia, Canada, and NBFR.

Considering that the Indonesian team lost two matches against Canada in the second match of Group C, Monday night, in the final match of the group, the Red and White team are determined to win the group.

Rionny said the Garuda team would choose its strongest players and those who were most ready to compete.

Unlike the match against Canada on Monday night, when debutant women's singles player Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoto and men's singles player Jonatan Christie lost, on Wednesday Indonesia's match will feature the main and most prepared players.

However, Rionny said that he had not yet determined the names of the players because they would still see the final preparations in training this Tuesday.

The Red-White squad will undergo training in the training arena provided by the committee in Hameenkylan Liikuntahall, Vantaa, about 20 minutes from the hotel by bus. According to Rionny, this exercise will determine which players will be shown against Denmark.

"This afternoon's training will determine who will be deployed against Denmark tomorrow. What is certain is that Indonesia will appear with the best strength to win the group," said Rionny.
