JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admits his team fell apart during a terrible first-half display in a 3-1 loss to north London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday night.

The Spurs captain found the net three times before half-time as Arsenal rampaged through goals from Emile Smith Rowe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Bukayo Saka.

"We completely lost control in the first half. We were knocked out and then reacted well," Lloris said as quoted by Reuters from Reuters.

"It was really frustrating and very disappointing. The players were ready but we lost a bit of control. We lost our balance in the middle of the pitch."

After winning their first three games of the season and topping the table, Tottenham has lost three in a row in the London derby, which was 0-3 against Crystal Palace, 0-3 against Chelsea, and the last one against Arsenal.

"When you concede three goals in each of the last three league games you can no longer hide problems," said Lloris.

"But we're professionals. There's a long way to go. We have to stay calm."

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo said his team must now recover "mentally and physically for the next game" which is next weekend's home game against Aston Villa who beat Manchester United. Losing will make the disappointment even greater.

"We didn't reach the standard that our fans deserve every day," the Portuguese coach said of his team's performance.

"We will try to improve it. We want to be a team that is fast, stronger, solid, dominant. We were not a team like that," he continued.

Espirito Santo drew Dele Alli and Japhet Tanganga who were disappointing in the first half. They improved a bit after the break until Son Heung-min could score a consolation goal.
