Spalletti Says The Quality Of Osimhen And Ospina Is The Difference Between Napoli Vs Sampdoria

JAKARTA - Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti said the quality of some of his players helped Napoli beat Sampdoria 4-0 in the Italian League continued at Luigi Ferraris, Thursday local time.

Spalletti admitted that although the final score showed a position that looked lopsided, Napoli's victory did not come easily.

The former AS Roma and Inter Milan coach specifically named forward Victor Osimhen and goalkeeper David Ospina as two players who showed individual quality in the win over Sampdoria.

"We are very happy with Osimhen's performance, because he works very hard in everything he does," Spalletti told DAZN after the game.

"It's a good result, but Sampdoria troubled us a lot in the first half. The players deserve credit for being able to reduce it all, withstand all the pressure and take advantage of opportunities that come," he added.

Osimhen closed the game with two goals, making it three goals for Napoli this season.

Meanwhile, Ospina made at least five careful saves for Sampdoria's on-target opportunities throughout the match.

"Ospina especially played really well in the first half, despite Sampdoria's efforts to pressure us from the start," Spalletti said.

"But it also leaves a hole in their back line, and in that situation Osimhen is able to show his ferocity.

"When a game doesn't go according to plan, you have to rely on the influence of individual quality and that's what we did."

The win kept Napoli clean in the first five games of the season and they are top of the table with a full 15 points.

Napoli will next host Cagliari at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.
